The Book Of Proverbs

     The Book Of Proverbs are the words of King Solomon which contain divinely inspired wisdom for our everyday use. At their foundation is love and obedience to God, who is the source of all true wisdom and guidance. The Proverbs offer a powerful insight into human nature and its flaws. They also demonstrate how mistakes (sin) can be avoided through a diligent obedience to God's laws, and loving conformity to His will.

     Ecclesiastes means "preacher", and the preacher in this great book is probably King Solomon himself. Reflecting on his own life, the preacher protests the unfairness and and lack of justice he has encountered, and concludes that "...all is vanity". Like Job, he is unable to find any meaning in his life experiences, and finally leaves the intellectual resolution to God. He comes to the conclusion that all we can do is trust God, fear Him, and keep His commandments. God is the giver of meaning —and everything else we seek.
